To celebrate our gig with Bon Jovi on Thursday, we're giving away two free guest tickets to watch the whole show. Entrants must be available to attend the gig on Thursday 10th June.

The Velvet Hearts Supporting Jon Bon Jovi @ The O2 Arena, London

Yes, you read it correctly! The Velvet Hearts have been selected to support Jon Bon Jovi next Thursday (10th June) at London's O2 arena. This is an amazing opportunity for the band, and a massive thank you must be sent out to everyone at Wave 105 for making this possible.

Thanks to all you guys who made it down to the Stoke last friday, was a great gig and good to see so many of you there!

 

Next gig we've got coming up is Nov 12th at Sound in Leicester Square. Discounted tickets (£7) are available to people on the Guest list, email jj@fridaystreetmusic.com now to get yourself on the list! We're planning on running some coaches up; one from Henley and one from Marlow. Friday 9th October at the Stoke, Guildford.

Yes, we’re back in Guildford on the 9th October, playing at the Stoke Pub. The generous people there have arranged a special 2 for 1 pizza deal on the night, so come down and stuff your cake holes. Also playing on the night; The Grandaughters and Rokhsan. Expect us on stage at around about 10pm..ish.
Tickets cost £5 and can either be bought in advance from the Stoke, or on the door. Doors open at 8.30pm.

Its been a busy few weeks for The Velvet Hearts recording some new tracks. Watch out for tunes called Bring You Down, Peace Is a Loaded Gun, Goodbye My Old Friend, Today and Next To You. The latter song we recorded live with guest musician Melvin Duffy, who's pedal steel playing made this song sound better than we could have imagined.......I took the video camera into this session, and  hope to share some of these moments with you soon. I'll send an announcement out once I've uploaded it.

Our April gig at The Ship in Marlow has changed from the 29th to the 22nd April (This Wednesday). Would be great to see you lot down there! Oh yes, and thanks to everyone who came along to our Album launch last week...twas a wonderful night!

Tues 31st March

We are pleased to announce that we will be signing a record deal with Aspect Records, and we have an OFFICIAL LAUNCH NIGHT on Thursday 16th April. . . .Whoooooo hoooooooooooo!!!

Details below, as you can see - would be great to have you all there...  you can pick up your own copy of the album - and golly gosh we might even sign it. We are running 2 coaches - 1 from Marlow (the ship) and 1 from Henley (outside magoos).

Coaches are 15 quid return, and this includes your entry fee! - if you would like to come, please email JJ@fridaystreet.biz as we need to have everyones name who is coming (The Cobden Club is a members club).

Sorry folks ,OLD TICKET HALL CANCELLED!!! because of the bad weather,Orry is somewhere in dorset stuck on a hill ,sideways with no traction or ability to go anywhere.We've called in the army to get him some fags.He is not pleased.We'll try and put another date together.

We're playing up in Windsor tonight if any of you fancy a night out?! Playing at a place called The Old Ticket Hall, starting at 9ish.......so get your ass down.

MIxing a new song at the mo it's called "under english sky's",I have to say it sounds fucking fabulous.Super crunchy loud,lush bv's,gonna put it up for sale soon so keep a look out.Also steve and I are in the studio with Julie and Esther tomorrow,an outstanding duo from bounemouth, with incredible songs and talent,cant wait for that!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Hope everyone had a nice new year.The velvets are getting ready for 2009 ,rehearsing some new material for the upcoming gigs and  recording/release in the coming months,steve has been working on some dance remixes of maryanne and some other various tunes ,they sound absolutely banging!!!!.The album is in the design process and should be out before long,were looking at different covers and finding it hard to pick the best one!! The velvets play four monthly residencies across the south east , center stage in bournemouth,uncle toms cabin in cookham dean (nr maidenhead),the frog and wicket in eversley and also the ship in marlow.
